The New England Patriots focused on strengthening their offense on day two of the NFL Draft, utilizing three picks to target various positions including quarterback, running back, and wide receiver. With six selections remaining on Saturday, the team is expected to shift its focus to defensive players. Executive Vice President Eliot Wolf highlighted the need to address defensive gaps, while also noting potential targets at various positions, emphasizing their prior engagements with several players through visits in the off-season.
"Obviously helped the offense out," Executive Vice President of Player Personnel Eliot Wolf said. "As we move forward here, certainly going to look to address the defense."
The Patriots feel unlikely to be the team that ends Sanders' slide - even though Wolf noted he was surprised the QB remained on the board.
While there are some bigger backs available who could pair well with Henderson, New England held Sampson, Etienne, and Blue on 30 visits.
Perhaps the double up could come at wide receiver, although the day three move in this room could be a subtraction as the depth chart stands 10 deep.
