Elevating Student Success With New England Transfer Guarantee
Briefly

The New England Transfer Guarantee (NETG) facilitates the transition of associate degree holders into participating four-year institutions across New England. Introduced by the New England Board of Higher Education in 2021, the initiative has shown effectiveness in simplifying admissions and enhancing student opportunities. With over 1,300 transfers from community colleges noted since inception, the program's success is bolstered by support from various foundations. Annual assessments of de-identified student data inform improvements and highlight trends, ultimately increasing educational attainment in the region.
The New England Transfer Guarantee (NETG) simplifies the transfer process for associate degree-holding students, guaranteeing them admission to participating four-year schools if they meet GPA requirements.
By removing barriers to transfer, the NETG empowers students to achieve their academic aspirations and contributes to higher levels of educational attainment in the region.
Each year, participating institutions submit de-identified student data to assess NETG’s performance, identifying trends and serving as a foundation for future educational improvements.
As of the last academic year, over 1,300 students have transferred from community colleges to four-year institutions via NETG since its launch in 2021.
