"As noted by Mike Giardi of the Boston Sports Journal in March, 118 offensive linemen have been selected in the first or second rounds of the NFL Draft over the last decade. Just 21 of those players had an arm length of 33 inches or shorter, and a sub-80 inch wingspan - with only one (Luke Goedeke) developing into a tackle in the NFL ranks."
""Someone sent in the mail a T. Rex. I don't know where it is, but a plastic T. Rex to my locker," Campbell said Wednesday at Gillette Stadium. "I thought it was funny, but yeah, I mean, I never really cared. It wasn't relevant or [would] help me in any way possible to help me do what I'm going to do.""
Will Campbell, a 6-foot-6 left tackle and 2025 No. 4 overall pick, entered the Patriots amid scrutiny over shorter arm length despite a strong LSU career. His arm length measures 32 5/8 inches (seventh percentile) and wingspan 77 3/8 inches, figures uncommon among early-round offensive linemen; only 21 of 118 first- or second-round OL in the last decade had arm length ≤33 inches and sub-80-inch wingspans, with one developing into a tackle. Campbell received T. Rex taunts but dismissed them. He has helped stabilize New England's offensive line and protect quarterback Drake Maye as a rookie.
