Vincent Iorio, a 22-year-old defenseman from Coquitlam, British Columbia, was claimed off NHL waivers by the San Jose Sharks and will join the team immediately. The Washington Capitals waived Iorio to clear a roster spot to activate Dylan McIlrath from injured reserve. Iorio made the Capitals' Opening Night roster but was a healthy scratch in the team's first four games of the 2025-26 season.
