"The Utah Mammoth introduced their new mascot, Tusky, back on October 15 and the team was seemingly energized by their new prehistoric pal in more ways than one. A video played at Delta Center illustrated how the blue-haired anthropomorphic woolly mammoth was discovered in the permafrost of the Rocky Mountains. He was carefully excavated and brought to the Delta Center in an elaborate pre-game ceremony for the team's home opener against the Calgary Flames. Tusky then burst from the large block of ice he had been preserved in, to raucous applause."
"The 6-foot-5, left-shooting "center of attention" skated around the rink in his no. 00 jersey and riled up fans for what eventually went down as a 3-1 Mammoth victory. That kicked off a seven-game winning streak spanning nearly two weeks before the team eventually fell 6-3 to the Edmonton Oilers on Tuesday. Prior to Tusky's introduction, Utah began the 2025-26 campaign 1-2-0 and was outscored 7-5 across that stretch. But upon his arrival the club unleashed an offensive onslaught during its streak and nearly doubled up the opposition 32-17."
""All things end, but we'll be back," the post read."
Tusky, a blue-haired anthropomorphic woolly mammoth, debuted at the Delta Center on October 15 after a staged discovery in Rocky Mountain permafrost and an elaborate pre-game excavation. Tusky burst from a block of ice, skated in a no. 00 jersey and energized fans as the Mammoth beat the Calgary Flames 3-1 in the home opener. The team then won seven straight games over nearly two weeks, outscoring opponents 32-17 during the run. Utah had started 1-2-0 before the mascot debut and was outscored 7-5 in that early stretch. The streak ended with a 6-3 loss to the Edmonton Oilers. Mascot social-media exchanges followed, including a concessionary post from Tusky and a jab from Colorado's mascot Bernie.
