Spencer Carbery on Ilya Protas potentially being called up to the Capitals: 'The time will come'

Ilya Protas, a 19-year-old Belarusian center, has posted outstanding rookie AHL numbers, including a six-game goal streak, and leads Hershey in goals and points. The organization is monitoring Hershey closely through highlights, reports, and feedback from coaches, management, and scouts while assessing timing for an NHL promotion. Protas plays top-six minutes in all situations, including power play and penalty kill, and has been given significant responsibility. The 2024 third-round pick has produced 16 points (8g, 8a) so far, showing strong development and production.
