Sharks at Hurricanes game 30: Lines, game thread and how to watch
"The Sharks have already played host to the Hurricanes, a 5-1 loss on Oct. 14 at SAP Center. Alex Nedeljkovic was in the net for that one and William Eklund scored the Sharks lone goal. The loss was one of San Jose's six to start the season. The Sharks are in the midst of another losing spell, having lost the last two games and three of the last four."
"The Hurricanes' top scorer is Sebastian Aho with 26 points in 27 games. Seth Jarvis leads the team with 16 goals. In the net, Frederik Andersen has had a tough go of it with a 5-7-2 record and a .875 goals against average. That doesn't really matter today because young Pyotr Kochetkov is expected to get the start. He's 4-0-0 this season with a 1.70 goals against average and a .926 save percentage."
"For the Sharks, there's no change in who plays and who sits. According to San Jose Hockey Now's Sheng Peng, it's Vincent Iorio, Shakir Mukhamadullin and Ryan Reaves that will be in the press box watching this game. Peng had the following quote from Head Coach Ryan Warsofsky regarding Mukhamadullin's game: Warsofsky, on decision to sit Mukhamadullin for a 3rd-straight game: "A lot of conversations with Mike and our staff...again, we really liked Mukh. We think he's going to be a really good defenseman. This gives him another skate this morning, another reset."- Sheng Peng (@Sheng_Peng) December 7, 2025"
San Jose continues an East Coast road trip with a visit to Raleigh to face the Carolina Hurricanes. The Sharks previously lost 5-1 to Carolina on Oct. 14 and enter the game having lost two straight and three of four. Carolina is on the second night of a back-to-back, coming off a 6-3 win over Nashville, and sits second in the Metropolitan Division at 17-8-2. Sebastian Aho leads Carolina in scoring while Pyotr Kochetkov is expected to start with a 4-0-0 record. San Jose will scratch Vincent Iorio, Shakir Mukhamadullin and Ryan Reaves, with coach Ryan Warsofsky describing the decision as a reset for Mukhamadullin.
