San Jose Sharks' rookie center to make NHL debut vs. Carolina Hurricanes
"SAN JOSE Michael Misa's brief wait to make his NHL debut with the San Jose Sharks will be coming to an end. Misa will play in his first NHL game on Tuesday when the Sharks host the Carolina Hurricanes to close out their season-opening three-game homestand, coach Ryan Warsofksy confirmed. The Sharks juggled their lines for Monday's practice, and Misa, a center, skated on the Sharks' third line with wingers Ty Dellandrea and Philipp Kurashev."
"WAIVER WIRE Defensemen Lucas Carlsson and Jack Thompson, who both began the season on the Sharks' injured non-roster list with lower-body ailments, cleared waivers on Monday and were assigned to the Barracuda of the AHL. Thompson, a right-shot defenseman, was injured late in the preseason, and Carlsson was unable to play in any of the six Sharks exhibition games."
Michael Misa will make his NHL debut on Tuesday when the San Jose Sharks host the Carolina Hurricanes, skating on the third line with Ty Dellandrea and Philipp Kurashev. Misa was a healthy scratch for the first two games after being drafted second overall in June. The Sharks also placed William Eklund and Tyler Toffoli with Macklin Celebrini, and Will Smith and Jeff Skinner with Alexander Wennberg. Defense pairs were shuffled with Dmitry Orlov and Mario Ferraro as the top pair. Lucas Carlsson and Jack Thompson cleared waivers and were assigned to the AHL Barracuda.
