Milner spent four of his seven professional seasons within the Capitals organization, playing for the ECHL's Stingrays and the AHL's Hershey Bears from 2016 to 2020 and once formed a tandem with Thompson. Spencer Carbery coached Milner for a handful of AHL games, and Milner's final AHL start was a 19-save shutout on December 29, 2019. Since retiring he became the food editor at the Post and Courier in 2021 and has served as a regular Capitals practice goalie, maintains a dedicated locker stall at MedStar Capitals Iceplex, and was asked to travel for the West Coast road trip.
