Rangers trade Artemi Panarin to LA for terrible return - Blue Seat Blogs
"Per Adam Schefter of all people (with Emily Kaplan and Elliotte Friedman confirming), the Panarin saga is over. The Rangers trade Artemi Panarin to the LA Kings for prospect Liam Greentree and a 3rd round pick. There is no extension for Panarin (yet). Greentree is a 20 year old winger in the OHL, he's on pace for 90 points this year, down from 119 last season. There is nothing else coming back for Panarin."
"There is no other way of putting this: This is a colossal failure by Chris Drury. To not even get a roster player, a legitimate high ceiling prospect, or a first round pick for one of your best trade assets is a failure. Plain and simple. The Artemi Panarin tenure in New York has come to an end, either way. More to come."
Artemi Panarin was traded by the New York Rangers to the Los Angeles Kings for 20-year-old OHL winger prospect Liam Greentree and a third-round draft pick. No contract extension accompanies Panarin in the deal. Greentree is currently on pace for about 90 points this season, down from 119 last season. No other assets were received in return for Panarin. The trade is characterized as a colossal failure by Chris Drury for not securing a roster player, high-ceiling prospect, or first-round pick for a top trade asset. Panarin's tenure in New York has ended.
