Rangers Recap: The Rangers make no elfing sense - Blue Seat Blogs
"What a win by the New York Rangers. After looking like the Rangers were going to fold when down 3-2 heading into the third, the Blueshirts put up 5 goals in the 3rd period. Taylor Raddysh had two goals against his former team, and Vincent Trocheck backed up what he said after the Nashville game by scoring two of his own."
"Raddysh got the party going late in the first off of a great play by Braden Schneider and Jonny Brodzinski by the net mouth. Goals seem to come in bunches for Taylor Raddysh, as he hadn't scored since October 30th against Edmonton. While Raddysh was not brought in to be a scoring option, he does have some good offensive instincts. He knows how to get in position to score by getting to the net."
"Gabe Perreault is quietly on a three game point streak since being recalled. Playing on a line with Will Cuylle, and Vincent Trocheck, Perreault just looks the part of a top six winger. Perhaps his time in the AHL was worth it, instead of forcing him into the NHL out of camp, which he and the Rangers may not have been ready for."
The Rangers trailed 3-2 entering the third period and then scored five third-period goals to pull away for a strong win. Taylor Raddysh scored twice against his former team, Vincent Trocheck added two goals, and Alexis Lafreniere and Artemi Panarin recorded milestone goals. The team showed inconsistency with poor outings against Chicago, Vancouver, and Nashville despite the big victory. Raddysh opened scoring late in the first after a play from Braden Schneider and Jonny Brodzinski and ended a scoring drought dating to October 30. Gabe Perreault has a three-game point streak since being recalled and contributed an assist. Igor Shesterkin stopped 29 of 32 shots and delivered several key saves to keep the team competitive.
