Auston Matthews suffered an in-game injury and could be out roughly a week but might return sooner. The injury did not result from the Zadorov hit. Anthony Stolarz is day-to-day. A next-man-up approach will give other players larger roles. Veteran leadership, combined talent, determination and a stronger collective team game are cited as the path to work out of the current slump.
