Tyler Toffoli scored on a delayed penalty with assists from Will Smith and Macklin Celebrini. Ryan Reaves extended the lead to 2-0 before Cutter Gauthier cut it to 2-1. Dimitri Orlov took a tripping penalty, leading to Anaheim's first power play, and Becket Sennecke tied the game 2-2. Reaves brought energy by fighting Ross Johnston; both players received five-minute fighting penalties and left the period early. John Klingberg later took a two-minute holding penalty that produced no goal.
