An overtime goal by Marcus Johansson was awarded after Predators goalie Justus Annunen pushed the net off its moorings. Kirill Kaprizov passed across the crease; Johansson's initial shot hit the side of the net as the cage slid out of place, and he then collected the puck and backhanded it over the goal line off the end boards with the net dislodged. The referee signaled a goal at 3:38 of overtime, and the NHL Situation Room upheld the call under Rule 63.7, concluding the net displacement occurred prior to an imminent scoring opportunity. Nashville players and coach Andrew Brunette publicly disagreed with the decision.
