The Sharks held a 3-2 lead late in the third period and had an empty net with under two minutes remaining when William Eklund missed a close-range attempt and had another blocked by Golden Knights defenseman Shea Theodore. Seconds later, Jack Eichel's flip shot bounced in front of goalie Alex Nedeljkovic and went into the net to tie the game with 1:34 left in regulation. Pregame activities at the SAP Center featured Macklin Celebrini and Will Smith posing for photos, signing autographs and participating in confetti celebrations.
