""Every day it's getting better,""
""The body's responding well after games, after practices. I'm very happy with where I'm at right now and I want to keep tackling the training sessions every day.""
""He's in a good physical space, he looks good out there. He was moving well and has got great instincts offensively. I think he looks like Anthony Duclair.""
""I thought he was skating well, he was heavy on pucks," Roy said. "Even in practice, I love his awareness. I see it.""
Anthony Duclair has shown clear progress two weeks into training camp, appearing in two preseason games and scoring in both while demonstrating improved mobility. Duclair tore his groin muscle off the bone five games into the previous season and acknowledged a premature December return that limited his effectiveness. He posted just 11 points in 44 games after a prior 24-goal, 42-point season. Duclair dedicated the summer to rehab and conditioning, and early results are promising. He scored his first goal since April 1 and displayed renewed chemistry with Mathew Barzal. Coaches have praised his skating, puck play, awareness, and adaptability across line combinations.
