Filip Gustavsson failed to glove Ekblad's shot, which ticked off Ryan Hartman and appeared to be going wide, and Sam Reinhart pounced on the rebound to collect his 25th goal."

Sam Reinhart opened the scoring on a rebound for his 25th goal after an Ekblad shot eluded Filip Gustavsson. The Wild tied the game on a power-play play when a Kaprizov attempt redirected off Ekblad to Joel Eriksson Ek. Marchand scored late in the first period on a backhander after a Tkachuk drop pass. Minnesota scored the only second-period goal on an Eriksson Ek finish. Late in regulation Matt Boldy scored shorthanded before Florida answered shortly thereafter.
