Marchand lifts Panthers to 4-3 win over Wild
"The Panthers opened the scoring 6:44 into the first when Carter Verhaeghe and Evan Rodrigues worked behind the net to claim the puck. Verhaeghe sent the biscuit from low to high to Aaron Ekblad at the right point. Filip Gustavsson failed to glove Ekblad's shot, which ticked off Ryan Hartman and appeared to be going wide, and Sam Reinhart pounced on the rebound to collect his 25th goal."
"Marchand would pot his first of the night at 18:20 with Jake Middleton off for trippping. After taking a drop pass from Matthew Tkachuk, Reinhart fired the puck around the boards where it came to Marchand on the left side. A determined Marchand cut towards the middle off the ice with Eriksson Ek in pursuit and shoveled a backhander past Gustavasson through a crowd."
Brad Marchand recorded two goals and an assist as the Florida Panthers defeated the Minnesota Wild 4-3 at Grand Casino Arena. Sam Reinhart opened the scoring on a rebound for his 25th goal after an Ekblad shot eluded Filip Gustavsson. The Wild tied the game on a power-play play when a Kaprizov attempt redirected off Ekblad to Joel Eriksson Ek. Marchand scored late in the first period on a backhander after a Tkachuk drop pass. Minnesota scored the only second-period goal on an Eriksson Ek finish. Late in regulation Matt Boldy scored shorthanded before Florida answered shortly thereafter.
