Maple Leafs recall young goaltender on an emergency basis
"Anthony Stolarz was released from hospital following precautionary imaging and will return to Toronto with the team. He'll be meeting us at the plane, I think he's doing ok."
"Dennis Hildeby has played strongly when with the Maple Leafs this season, leading the netminders in save percentage with a .912 and a goals against average of 2.90."
"Hildeby’s record of 5-6-4 is not a reflection of his play, but rather of how the team has played collectively in front of their goaltenders this season."
Dennis Hildeby has been recalled from the AHL's Toronto Marlies on an emergency basis following Anthony Stolarz's injury during warm-ups. Stolarz was hit in the throat by a puck and was taken to the hospital but was later released. Joseph Woll played in Stolarz's absence, making 38 saves in a loss. Hildeby has performed well this season, leading Maple Leafs goalies in save percentage. He aims for a larger role if management decides to move a main goaltender as the team approaches the end of the regular season.
