Washington goalies Logan Thompson and Charlie Lindgren had earlier near-bouts stopped by on-ice officials this season. Thompson praised goalie fights as goalies sticking up for teammates and recalled a December 15, 2019 ECHL fight in which Michael McNiven challenged him; Thompson landed the only punches. Both received five-minute fighting majors plus 10-minute game misconducts, and Parker Milner finished the 2-1 Stingrays victory.
