Logan Thompson won his 50th career NHL game with the Washington Capitals and was named to Canada’s Olympic hockey team on December 31. He will travel to join the team this weekend, taking a train to New Jersey before flying to Milano Cortina, with his parents also attending. Thompson previously played for Canada at the 2022 World Championship, posting a 3-1-0 record, a 3.00 goals-against average and an .881 save percentage. He ranks third in the NHL with 18.3 goals saved above expectation this season. Thompson expects to embrace any role on the Olympic roster, with Jordan Binnington and Darcy Kuemper also on the team.
