"It's a huge goal. I thought Parse played well. I thought Noah Laba's line [with Parssinen and Taylor Raddysh] had a solid game . . . The pace of that game was fast, and I thought they handled themselves extremely well. They get a huge goal for us, [and] that's just an example of their willingness to get to the inside. So I was happy for Parse, and hopefully that'll be something that will help his confidence moving forward."
"No, I don't go into the game thinking I've got to score to stay in the lineup. I don't think that's the reason I am in the lineup, to score"
Mike Sullivan inserted Juuso Parssinen into the lineup to try to manufacture goals after two straight shutouts. Parssinen redirected a Braden Schneider shot at 4:51 of the third period to end a 170-minute, 39-second goal drought and tie the game 1-1. Auston Matthews scored 58 seconds into overtime to give Toronto a 2-1 victory, while the Rangers earned one point. The Rangers fell to 2-3-1, are 0-3 at home, and have taken five of six possible points on the road. Parssinen, 24, said scoring is not the sole reason he should be in the lineup. The team practiced in Montreal ahead of a game at the Bell Centre.
