"We did a lot of good things, especially in the first half of the game. Then, they're able to capitalize and make a couple of good plays and they go up two ... it was hard fought and our game was better, but obviously you don't end up on the right side of it."
"His ability to read the game and make little plays, just like he did on my goal. He just lays it in there, not too quick, just in the right spot with the right pace on it, just an easy play for me to put in. And he seems to be stronger on the puck, absorbing contact, things like that."
The team's game is building and improving, with many positive plays especially in the first half. The opponent capitalized on a couple of plays and went up by two goals, and despite a stronger overall performance the team did not win. Easton Cowan assisted on the third-period tying goal that forced overtime. Cowan has earned increased opportunity since his recent recall and has contributed across all facets. Cowan reads the game well, makes timely plays, places passes with proper pace, and has shown greater puck strength and ability to absorb contact. Tavares and Cowan have growing on-ice chemistry.
