Jakob Chychrun scores overtime game-winning goal against Devils to snap Capitals' two-month OT losing streak
""We haven't found a way to win one of these games, so it was nice for Chycky. Steps up, makes a huge play for us. Goes end-to-end, just another display of his unique ability to skate. "Even though he's at the end of a shift - he's been out there for a minute-plus and still finds a way to use his explosiveness, power, and speed to get to the net. It's a huge play for our group.""
""The guy's a top defenseman in the league, so credit to him for getting us two points tonight,""
Jakob Chychrun scored an overtime game-winning goal by racing from the defensive zone and batting his own rebound past Devils netminder Jake Allen. The goal gave the Capitals their second overtime win of the season and snapped a long overtime drought dating back to October 14, when Chychrun also scored an overtime winner. The Devils had previously owned the league's best overtime record. Chychrun logged a minute-plus shift before the goal and drew praise for his explosiveness, power and speed. Nic Dowd earned the primary assist after staying on the ice to receive the puck.
