How Marco Sturm's lineup reshuffle paid off in Bruins' third-straight win
"That's what good teams do. They don't complain. They just work."
""I went with my guts a little bit," Sturm said on NESN postgame of his lineup decisions. "And I thought that that lineup we had today gave us the best chance.""
David Pastrnak returned after missing five games due to injury and was cleared before the St. Louis game. Marco Sturm placed Pastrnak on the third line with Fraser Minten and Marat Khusnutdinov rather than disrupt the top line of Morgan Geekie and Elias Lindholm or a productive second line. Alex Steeves scored five goals in six games and Geekie tallied nine points while Pastrnak was sidelined. Pavel Zacha, Viktor Arvidsson and Casey Mittelstadt outscored opponents 11-6 in 166 minutes of 5-on-5. Sturm also moved Tanner Jeannot and Mark Kastelic to the fourth line with Sean Kuraly and described the decision as following his instincts to give the lineup the best chance.
