Hershey Bears to wear 'Skating Bear' vintage jerseys this weekend and '1938 Throwbacks' later this season
"The Bears made the announcement in a press release on December 3 and comes as the AHL celebrates its 90th anniversary as a league. This weekend, the Bears will wear "Skating Bear" throwback jerseys. The sweaters will debut on Hall of Fame Night on Saturday, December 6, against the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins and be worn again on December 7 against the Lehigh Valley Phantoms. The jerseys will then be auctioned off at the conclusion of the Phantoms game."
"The sweaters are white and feature chocolate accents. Per the team, the crest features a variant of the popular "Skating Bear" logo that the club wore in the 1970s, including during the team's 1974 Calder Cup win at Hersheypark Arena. Fans interested in scoring merch featuring this logo and design can purchase replica jerseys and other gear at the Hershey Bears Team Store at this weekend's games."
The Hershey Bears will add two vintage alternate jersey designs for the remainder of the 2025–26 season to coincide with the AHL's 90th anniversary. The team will debut a white "Skating Bear" throwback with chocolate accents on Hall of Fame Night, December 6, and will wear it again on December 7, with those game-worn jerseys to be auctioned. Replica "Skating Bear" apparel will be sold at the team store during the weekend. The club will also wear white 1938-inspired throwbacks with chocolate shoulders, arms, three front stripes, and a scripted "Hershey" crest seven times this season.
