"In celebration of the AHL's 90th anniversary, the Bears wore "1938 Throwbacks" - jerseys inspired by the sweaters Hershey rocked during the 1938-39 campaign. At the time, the AHL was hosting its third season as an organization and was known as the International-American Hockey League. The Hershey Bears had just transferred from the Eastern Amateur Hockey League and finished the season with a 31-18-5 - best in the West Division."
"The jerseys feature the city name, Hershey, in a script font, outlined by a thin, dark brown border. Underneath sits the team's original Bear logo over three spaced-out horizontal dark brown stripes. The shoulders and neck are dark brown. The Penguins also participated in the throwback jersey night by wearing sweaters from the 2004-05 season. The Bears are scheduled to wear the vintage sweaters seven more times this season."
