Full-of-personality Andrew Cristall delivers hoops challenges, Ilya Protas chirps, and a personal rash question while mic'd up for Hershey Bears
"Grant Cruikshank seemed to know what was coming, warning his teammates, "20 mic'd up, 20 mic'd up." "Nope," Cristall replies, to the belief of no one. The clip starts with Cristall taking a shot at a goaltender, but not quite to his liking. "Ah, gave him a freebie. That was a," and then he sings with a falsetto voice, "freeeeeebieeeeee.""
"Cristall then asks, "You get that stuff figured out, or no? For your back? Like the rash, you've got that stuff figured out?" Eventually, we find Cristall at center ice, surrounded by two of the tallest players in minor league hockey, Ilya Protas and Eriks Mateiko. "Are you good, though?" Protas asks Cristall. "At basketball?" Cristall replies. "Yeah." "Probably not," Protas guesses. "Yeah, I'm nasty," Cristall says. He then turns to 6-foot-6 Eriks Mateiko. "Let's go one-on-one, bro, at basketball. One-on-on me.""
Andrew Cristall, a silky-mitted forward and prospect, was mic'd up at a Hershey Bears practice and displayed a playful, outgoing personality. Teammate Grant Cruikshank warned about the mic, prompting Cristall's casual denial. Cristall mocked a less successful shot by singing "freeeeeebieeeeee" in falsetto. He approached the bench and bantered with nervous assistant equipment manager Dillon Filepas, who told him "You've been a beaut all day." Cristall asked about Filepas's back rash and later found himself at center ice surrounded by tall players Ilya Protas and Eriks Mateiko, boasting about his basketball skills and challenging Mateiko one-on-one.
