"And Franky over the last probably month, I'd say he's really took it to his own. He's really stepped up, and he's making huge plays at key moments."
"(I'm) just feeling good,"
"There's good energy around the room. Whether it's win or lose, this group is amazing. No matter what, it's a new day every day, so it's just exciting to come to the rink and see what's in store."
The Washington Capitals have been hampered by multiple absences, including Pierre-Luc Dubois for much of the season, Tom Wilson (lower-body), Jakob Chychrun (illness) and Justin Sourdif (facial injury). Ethen Frank scored both regulation goals to force overtime against the Montreal Canadiens, tipping a Matt Roy shot and redirecting a Rasmus Sandin attempt late in the third. Connor McMichael finished the comeback with an overtime winner. Frank reached a first 10-goal NHL season and has four goals in his last three games. Frank began his pro path with an amateur try-out for the AHL Hershey Bears in 2022 and gradually earned NHL opportunity. The team has leaned on depth as several high-end players remain unavailable.
