Easton Cowan and Sam Dickinson won a Memorial Cup together with the London Knights and now face each other in the NHL as rookies. Cowan was selected 28th overall by Toronto in 2023 and has established himself in the Maple Leafs' top-six alongside John Tavares, recording nine points in 21 games. Dickinson was selected 11th overall by San Jose in 2024 and is averaging just under 15 minutes per game, with one goal and two points in 24 games. Both players have received extended opportunities early in their NHL careers. Macklin Celebrini leads the Sharks offensively, ranking third in league scoring.
