"What is the news on Oliver Ekman-Larsson? Berube: Not bad. Tomorrow, we will know. Hopefully, he can get on the ice and see how it feels. That's what we're hoping. We'll go from there. That must be better news than you expected, given how much pain OEL appeared to be in when he left the game. Berube: For sure. Again, he has to get on the ice. I can't give you an answer until he gets on the ice tomorrow."
"Marshall Rifai looks like he is getting closer. In training camp, where was he in the mix? Berube: He has always been in the mix since I've been here as a guy who can give you games and be ready to play. A guy like him gets in there and plays the games, gains confidence, and who knows? He has a lot of ability. He can skate. He is a physical player."
Oliver Ekman-Larsson is expected to try skating tomorrow to evaluate how he feels and determine his short-term availability. Marshall Rifai has been consistently in the defensive mix, demonstrating skating ability, physicality, and readiness to play while gaining confidence. Joseph Woll is close to returning but will not play tomorrow; continued progress could make him available soon. Chris Tanev has completed imaging and is obtaining a second opinion before a decision is finalized. Anthony Stolarz will not be on the ice in the near future, though his season is not being declared over at this time.
