"Q, he's got great speed. He plays both wing and centre, but he brings speed to the game. He's a competitive kid, but his speed is what drives him. He's fast, he's powerful for a young kid. He's going to bring energy to the game. He's going to work. He's going to compete, that's what he's going to bring to the game tonight."

Jacob Quillan will make his Maple Leafs season debut Tuesday against the St. Louis Blues after Nicolas Roy was sidelined with an upper-body injury and is expected to miss multiple games. Quillan recorded 14 points (two goals, 12 assists) in 14 games with the AHL Toronto Marlies before his call-up. Head coach Craig Berube praised Quillan's speed, power and competitiveness and noted Quillan can play both wing and centre while providing energy and work ethic. The Leafs enter the game on a five-game losing streak and are seeking tighter, more complete play across all zones; GM Brad Treliving publicly backed Berube.
