"The NHL CBA requires each team to have two goaltenders on the 23-man roster at all times. With Lindgren still out due to a lower-body injury, the team kept Stevenson on the roster heading into the Olympic break, and Bjorklund started in Hershey's 4-3 overtime loss to the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins on Saturday - their last before the AHL All-Star Break."
"Stevenson attended the game in Hershey with Aliaksei Protas and Garrett Roe, sitting in a Giant Center suite. Stevenson returning comes at a crucial time for the Bears, who are 3-2-5 in their last 10. They currently sit fourth in the Atlantic Division standings with 48 points - two ahead of fifth-place Lehigh Valley and three ahead of sixth-place Bridgeport."
The Washington Capitals recalled goaltender Garin Bjorklund from the Hershey Bears and loaned Clay Stevenson to Hershey while Charlie Lindgren remains on injured reserve during the Olympic break. The NHL CBA requires two goaltenders on the 23-man roster, prompting the move. Bjorklund has a 4-5-3 record with a 3.47 goals-against average, a .881 save percentage and one shutout in 12 Hershey games, and appeared in seven ECHL games with a 4-2-0 record, 2.37 GAA and .929 save percentage. Stevenson attended Hershey’s recent game and returns to bolster the Bears during a crucial stretch; the Bears are 3-2-5 in their last 10 and face four road games before a home back-to-back with Lehigh Valley.
