5 Florida Panthers players named to initial rosters for 2026 Winter Olympics
Briefly

The Florida Panthers are currently striving to repeat as Stanley Cup champions and are one win away from achieving this feat against the Edmonton Oilers. Ahead of the 2026 Winter Olympics in Milan, the Panthers have notable representation, with five players named in Team USA, Finland, Canada, Latvia, and Germany. Aleksander Barkov serves as Finland's lone repeat Olympian, having previously competed in 2014. Both Barkov and Matthew Tkachuk have showcased their talents and contributions leading to their Olympic selections, further enriching their professional journeys.
I was fortunate to represent Finland once already at the Olympics, and that's for sure the biggest, biggest hockey tournament for national teams. That was my dream as a kid to be there. I got to experience that for a little bit for two games, and now to be named again is a huge honor.
Tkachuk has become one of the faces of USA hockey, a notion that was amplified after the 4 Nations Face-Off in February. The winger has the blend of scoring prowess, edginess and charisma that makes for a superstar.
