X-rays on Stafford's finger come back negative
"The MVP candidate said he was able to finish the game in part because of "adrenaline.""
""It wasn't pleasant," he said Saturday. "It wasn't great. We'll see what it is.""
X-rays on Matthew Stafford's right (throwing) hand finger were negative on Sunday after the injury suffered during the Rams' wild-card win. The finger bent backward late in the first half when it hit a Carolina Panthers defender's arm on a pass attempt. Stafford was able to finish the game, helped by adrenaline, and characterized the injury as unpleasant and uncertain. Stafford completed 24-of-42 passes for 304 yards with three touchdowns and one interception. The Los Angeles Rams won 34-31 and advanced to the NFC divisional round. Additional testing followed the immediate game assessment.
