Why reuniting with the Jets is just what former OSU teammates Fields, Wilson need
Briefly

Garrett Wilson first met Justin Fields in early 2019 when both arrived at Ohio State and immediately connected. They shared a dorm and Fields accepted a ride with Wilson's parents to dinner, which sparked a lasting friendship. Wilson had graduated early to participate in spring ball while Fields transferred from Georgia to become the Buckeyes' quarterback. Wilson's father noted Fields' imposing size, briefly mistaking him for a defensive player before Garrett corrected him. A standout pass at practice built trust, and Fields advocated for Wilson in the receiver rotation. Their college relationship influenced Wilson's career and they now reunite on the New York Jets; the circumstances differ from college.
"Dad," Garrett corrected, "that's our quarterback."
His father -- a gregarious personality -- "tried to peel back the layers" of their soft-spoken guest.
"We were snapping," Wilson said.
"I'm thankful for the relationship we had in college," Wilson said. "I'm certain that's why I'm at where I'm at now."
