Why Micah Parsons didn't draft himself in fantasy football
"I stayed mostly offense and it came down to my defense and they saw me pick up Coop, they were like, 'What do you know?'"
"Because I'm watching practice and I'm seeing everything we've got dialed in and what we're putting in, and so I started him and he goes off and gets me 36 points. It's like, 'Ahh, so you knew something.' I was like, 'Listen, we can't do that. I just had a feeling.' I know he's part of my starting lineup, and I expect that type of tenacity and effort every single game."
Green Bay traded two first-round draft picks and Pro Bowl defensive tackle Kenny Clark to acquire Micah Parsons. Parsons had the first pick in his personal fantasy draft but did not select himself; another league member drafted him and Parsons did not attempt to move up. Parsons instead drafted Packers linebacker Edgerrin Cooper, a choice questioned by others in his league. Cooper led the team with 12 tackles in Week 1 against the Detroit Lions and produced 36 fantasy points. Parsons credited his observations in practice for the decision and stated that Cooper belongs in his starting lineup, expecting consistent tenacity and effort.
