J.J. McCarthy is likely to miss Sunday's game at Seattle after reporting concussion symptoms and remaining in the league's protocol. McCarthy previously missed five games with a high right ankle sprain and has started six games this season, with the Vikings 2-4 in those starts. Justin Jefferson and Aaron Jones have not lost faith in McCarthy's long-term prospects despite a difficult 2025 debut and early struggles. Rookie Max Brosmer took all first-team reps and is expected to start unless McCarthy is cleared. Jefferson's receiving average during McCarthy starts dropped to 53 yards, a 43% decrease from his career average.
