Veteran TE David Njoku confirms his Browns tenure is over
"the time for me to find a new home has come and all I can think of is just the gratefulness in my heart. The City of Cleveland will forever be home."
"I'm not going nowhere. I ain't f---ing leaving."
"significant turnover"
David Njoku will not return to the Cleveland Browns in 2026 after nine seasons with the team. He expressed gratefulness and called Cleveland his home. Trade rumors at the deadline did not result in a move, and he previously insisted he was not leaving. Browns general manager Andrew Berry said the offense will undergo significant turnover as the team rebuilds a low-scoring unit. Njoku ranks second among Browns tight ends in touchdown catches (34) and receptions (384). Injuries caused him to miss 11 games over two seasons and 2025 production fell to 33 catches for 293 yards and four touchdowns. Rookie Harold Fannin Jr. led the team with 72 catches for 731 yards and six touchdowns. Njoku was a 2017 first-round pick and a 2023 Pro Bowler.
