Jayden Higgins and Jaylin Noel brought a close on-field relationship from Iowa State to the Houston Texans after both were drafted in 2025 (Higgins No. 34, Noel No. 79). They often used rock-paper-scissors in college to decide who ran deep routes, and the loser celebrated his teammate's big plays. The two lean on each other during the rookie transition by calling about the playbook, sitting together in meetings, and staying physically close during drills. Both aim to become reliable targets for quarterback C.J. Stroud and to translate their college chemistry into NFL production.
"It was about who's gonna run the hold down route," Higgins told ESPN. "And who's gonna run the big play over the top."
You can catch DJ on ESPN Radio on his show "Talkin' Texans."
