Nick Caley is expected to return as the Houston Texans' offensive coordinator in 2026. Caley was hired last offseason after Bobby Slowik was fired in February and this season represented his first opportunity as a play-caller. Houston's offense ranked 18th in scoring (22.1) and 16th in total offense (329 yards per game) in Slowik's last year. Under Caley the Texans averaged 23.8 points per game (13th) and pass protection improved markedly, with C.J. Stroud's sacks dropping from 52 to a career-low 23 and team pressure rates falling to 31.9% of drop backs. The offense showed notable growth during the final two to three months of the season, aided by a collaborative relationship between Caley and Stroud that incorporated quarterback input into game plans.
