Stalwarts of Dolphins Perfect Season Kuechenberg, Anderson make second round for Hall of Fame seniors consideration
"The Pro Football Hall of Fame has made it to the next round of votes while whittling down the list of senior candidates for possible 2026 induction from 52 to 34 candidates, and former Miami Dolphins Bob Kuechenberg and Dick Anderson are among the group. Kuechenberg, a versatile offensive lineman, and Anderson, a ball-hawking safety, were each key cogs in the Dolphins 1971-73 run where they won three AFC titles and two Super Bowls, including finishing 17-0 in 1972."
"Nine from this list will be picked as semifinalists in a vote that is slated to take place over the next month. Then, three senior nominees will be selected as finalists for possible induction. The final Hall of Fame vote, which also includes modern-era players and coaches and contributors, has been revealed in the time between the conference championship games and the Super Bowl."
The Pro Football Hall of Fame reduced the senior-candidate list from 52 to 34 for possible 2026 induction. Bob Kuechenberg and Dick Anderson are among those who advanced. Kuechenberg played as a versatile offensive lineman and Anderson served as a ball-hawking safety. Both contributed to the Dolphins' 1971-73 run that produced three AFC titles, two Super Bowls, and the 17-0 1972 season. Nine of the 34 will be chosen as semifinalists in a vote over the next month, followed by selection of three senior finalists for possible induction. The final Hall of Fame vote includes modern-era players, coaches, and contributors and occurs between the conference championships and the Super Bowl.
