Sources: Vikes add Wentz, trade Howell to Philly
"The Minnesota Vikings made a change to their quarterback room Sunday, reaching agreement on a contract with veteran quarterback Carson Wentz and trading quarterback Sam Howell to the Philadelphia Eagles, sources told ESPN's Adam Schefter. Wentz, 32, played his only season for the Kansas City Chiefs in 2024, when he served as backup to Patrick Mahomes. Wentz played in two games as a reserve and started the final regular season game against the Denver Broncos"
"The Vikings acquired Howell in a trade with the Seattle Seahawks in April. The trade to the Eagles marks the third time he's been dealt since being selected by the Washington Commanders in the 2022 draft. Before joining the Chiefs, Wentz spent his first eight NFL seasons with the Eagles, Indianapolis Colts, Washington Commanders and Los Angeles Rams. He joined the Eagles as the No. 2 pick in the 2016 draft and played five seasons in Philadelphia as the starter before being replaced by Jalen Hurts."
