Kyzir White is set to join the Tennessee Titans and will start the season on the practice squad. White started all 17 games for the Arizona Cardinals and posted career highs in several categories, including 137 tackles, 2.5 sacks, nine tackles for loss, an interception, three passes defended and a fumble recovery. White has 615 career tackles, 7.5 sacks and six interceptions over seven NFL seasons and previously played four seasons with the Los Angeles Chargers. White has prior experience with coaches Jonathan Gannon, Nick Rallis and Dennard Wilson, creating familiarity with Tennessee's defensive staff. He will compete with Cedric Gray and James Williams for an inside linebacker role.
Adding White gives Tennessee another veteran who will eventually compete with second-year players Cedric Gray and James Williams for a starting spot. White, who played his first four seasons for the Los Angeles Chargers, set career highs last season with 2.5 sacks, eight quarterback hits, nine tackles for loss, an interception, three passes defended, and a fumble recovery, the first of his career. He had 137 tackles last season. For his seven-year career, he has 615 tackles, 7.5 sacks and six interceptions.
White signed with the Cardinals during the 2023 offseason after playing for coach Jonathan Gannon and Cardinals defensive coordinator Nick Rallis in Philadelphia in 2022. Having spent that season with Gannon and Rallis led to White becoming a crucial piece in Gannon's transition to first-time head coach. Titans defensive coordinator Dennard Wilson was the passing game coordinator/defensive backs coach when White played for Philadelphia in 2022. Wilson wouldn't name who would start at inside backer next to Cody Barton when asked on Tuesday.
