Source: Saints WR Olave out due to blood clot
""I think it's going to be my first time in my NFL career playing 17," Olave said Sunday. "It means a lot, man. One of my goals, one of my main goals for this year is trying to play all 17. Playing through injuries, playing through all that. So, I'm super grateful, like I said. Got to give all glory to God to be in this position. We just got to finish next week.""
""It was a tough time last year""
Chris Olave developed a blood clot in his lung and will miss the New Orleans Saints' season finale against the Atlanta Falcons. Olave has no prior history of blood clots and is expected to recover within about a month and participate in the Saints' offseason program beginning in April. He finished his fourth NFL season with a career-best 1,163 receiving yards and nine touchdowns and will enter his fifth-year option season if no contract extension is reached before 2026. Olave dealt with a recurring back issue this season, played Week 17 after treatment, missed part of 2024 following two concussions, and at one point contemplated retirement.
