Source: Optimism for CB Arnold after 2nd opinion
"Detroit Lions starting cornerback Terrion Arnold, after a second opinion, found that his shoulder injury isn't as bad as feared and could possibly return as soon as this month, a source told ESPN's Adam Schefter on Tuesday."
"Lions coach Dan Campbell on Monday said Arnold was "going to be out for a long time," even raising the possibility of the injury ending Arnold's season."
"Arnold was carted off the field during the Lions' victory against the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday. He also left the Week 4 game against the Cleveland Browns with a shoulder injury."
After a second medical opinion, Terrion Arnold's shoulder injury is not as severe as initially feared, and a return could be possible this month. Earlier expectations indicated a longer absence and even the possibility of a season-ending injury. Arnold was carted off during the Lions' victory over the Bengals and had previously left the Week 4 game against the Browns with a shoulder issue. The team also placed starting cornerback D.J. Reed on injured reserve due to a hamstring injury. Arnold is 22, in his second NFL season, and was the 24th pick in the 2024 draft out of Alabama.
