Source: Bengals WR Higgins to play against Fins
"Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Tee Higgins will play against the Miami Dolphins, a source told ESPN's Jeremy Fowler. Higgins was questionable for the team's final road game as he worked his way through concussion protocol. On Friday, Bengals coach Zac Taylor said Higgins had a final hurdle to clear in order for him to play against the Dolphins. According to a source, the team was hopeful that Higgins could play but wanted to check how he felt Sunday morning before giving him the green light."
"Higgins was carted back to the locker room after spending several minutes on the turf following a catch attempt. He did not play four days later but eventually returned for the team's game against the Buffalo Bills. In that game, he cleared two concussion checks despite taking hard falls in that game as well. He finished the contest but reported concussion-like symptoms once the team returned to Cincinnati."
Tee Higgins will play against the Miami Dolphins after progressing through concussion protocol. He was questionable for the final road game while he worked through the protocol and required a final pregame assessment. Higgins has entered concussion protocol twice in the last month. The first instance in Week 12 saw him carted off after spending several minutes on the turf following a catch attempt. He missed the next game, later returned versus the Buffalo Bills and cleared two concussion checks despite taking hard falls, but reported concussion-like symptoms upon returning to Cincinnati. He missed last week’s loss to the Baltimore Ravens, which eliminated the Bengals (4-10) from playoff contention. Higgins has 46 catches for 667 yards and nine touchdowns this season.
