Robinson adjusting to 49ers after 'unusual' week
Briefly

Brian Robinson Jr. practiced with the San Francisco 49ers for the first time and took time to adjust to his new team. He wore No. 30 and participated in a 62-minute workout. The 49ers acquired Robinson in a trade that sent a 2026 sixth-round pick to the Washington Commanders. Robinson was Washington's most productive running back for three seasons but said he could not explain the trade and expects to maintain his goals and work ethic. San Francisco named him the No. 2 running back behind Christian McCaffrey. Coach Kyle Shanahan praised Robinson and said the team was excited to add him.
In his first practice as a member of the San Francisco 49ers, running back Brian Robinson Jr. needed at least a little bit of time to adjust. "It was like a first day of school," Robinson said. "I got lost in the hallway for a second but I found my way to class." Wearing No. 30 and jumping into a 62-minute workout on Monday, Robinson might have needed that brief moment to get his feet under him.
"I really couldn't tell you that right now," Robinson said. "The last week or two has been a bit unusual, but nothing changes for me. I expect the same goals I set for myself three, four months ago. It stays the same, same process, same everything I expect to do of everything that I was expecting to do for myself this year. I expect to continue that even though I'm in a new home, so nothing should change."
"We brought him here to be our (number) two back," coach Kyle Shanahan said. "Always been a big fan of Brian. (I) loved him coming out of college. He's done really well going against him and we were pumped that he was available and we were pumped that we were able to get him."
