""We have an opponent that's extremely capable of beating us, obviously," Shula said. "That warrants all of my attention, so that's what they're going to get.""
""If the right spot and the right context and the right situation presents itself, when that time comes we'll decide that," Shula said. "I'll sit down with Sean and everybody I'm close to and make that decision.""
"He will follow his weekly preparation routine, "segment" his mind and "lock in" on the task at hand, he said."
Chris Shula is the Los Angeles Rams defensive coordinator and seeks to become a third-generation NFL head coach. Shula has been on the Rams' staff since 2017 and worked with inside linebackers, defensive backs and edge rushers before his 2024 promotion to defensive coordinator. Interview requests for assistants in wild-card games can be submitted, and teams are expected to request interviews with Shula. Shula is focusing on the Rams' NFC wild-card game against the Carolina Panthers and plans to follow his weekly preparation routine, segment his mind and lock in on the task at hand. Shula said readiness for a head coach role depends on the right spot and context and would be decided with close confidants.
