""That we can play with the best of them,""
""We came in facing what they say is the top NFC team. When we went into Green Bay [and won 16-13] it was the same thing.""
""It's fun to play winning football. "It's in the palm of our hands and we've just got to do our job. ... It's amazing. It's been a pretty long drought for us. And to have winning football at Carolina, there's no better fee""
Cold rain, recent inconsistency, injuries and a short week did not prevent the Carolina Panthers from defeating the Los Angeles Rams 31-28. The victory improved Carolina to 7-6 and moved its playoff chances from 18% to 27% entering the bye week. The Panthers sit half a game behind NFC South leader Tampa Bay and face two of their final four games against the Buccaneers. Players said the win showed the team can compete with top NFC opponents and that locker-room depth gives the squad a realistic late-season push after seven losing seasons.
