"After a dismal start to the season, fraught with penalties, sacks, and turnovers, the New England Patriots have tightened up their game somewhat and become a winner. If Mike Vrabel wants to take his team further, bolstering his pass rush, which has faded, makes perfect sense. The player to fill the need, if he's healthy, could be Trey Hendrickson of Cincinnati."
"The Patriots have now shown they are a bona fide playoff contender. They also have a quarterback in Drake Maye who's emerging as an NFL supersta r. All talk of the "future" should be shelved. The future is now, and the team should go for it all in 2025. That means trades should be the order of the day before the window shuts down after Week 9."
The New England Patriots began the season poorly with penalties, sacks, and turnovers but have tightened up and become a winner. The pass rush has faded, and improving it would help head coach Mike Vrabel push the team further. Trey Hendrickson of the Cincinnati Bengals represents a prime target if healthy. Hendrickson is on a one-year $30 million deal and has reportedly been in contract disputes while the Bengals have struggled with Joe Burrow injured. Hendrickson exited a recent game with a back injury, but when healthy he is a premier sack artist comparable to Matt Judon's 2022 breakout. The team should pursue trades before the Week 9 deadline to capitalize on its 2025 window.
